I've been snappin off pictures since I had my first brownie at age nine. Now that I've almost grown up I call them photographs. I firmly believe that if at all possible, a person should in some form chronicle their surroundings or capture their feelings as the years travel on ever more rapidly. Write, paint, photograph, draw, scribble down notes, but do not let your experiences and feelings go unnoticed. These pieces of yourself, no matter what they be, are an extension of you. And share them. Leave them, or give them away to your fellow beings who will think of you, know you better and love you through them long after your head and hand can no longer create on this plane.
